The Caves

The Caves is a unique place in the heart of Edinburgh, part of the underground structure of the 18th century South Bridge.

This historic structure served a variety of functions - from stables for the French cavalry, to a hideout for royal bodyguards, to whisky cellars known as 'Whisky Row'.

Today, it is a unique venue for cultural events, weddings and private parties, capable of accommodating between 65 and 400 guests. Original terracotta floor tiles, labyrinthine cellars and huge arches add to the venue's unique historical charm.
