قلعة

قلعة (Al Fahidi Fort) is the oldest building in Dubai, built in 1787. Originally used as a defense, royal residence and prison, this historic monument now houses the Dubai Museum.

The fort's unique architecture with coral and shell walls and traditional ventilation system (wind towers) delight visitors. In the central courtyard is a traditional Arish summer house made of woven palm leaves.

The museum presents Dubai's fascinating history through life-size dioramas, rare artifacts and displays showing the sea, desert and agricultural life of the ancient inhabitants.
