Description
Beykoz Mecidiye Pavilion (National Palaces) is a historic pavilion located on the Asian bank of the Bosphorus in Istanbul. Built in 1845 by Egyptian Kavalali Governor Mehmed Ali Pasha as a gift to Sultan Abdülmecid, it is an excellent example of Ottoman architecture with Western influences.
The interior of the pavilion is stunning with neoclassical decorations, gilded furniture, crystal chandeliers and Baccarat vases. A unique feature is a small resting pavilion called the 'mountain bath', whose walls are decorated with oyster shells.
This tranquil spot offers a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus, making it an ideal spot for history and architecture lovers.
