Description
Aynalıkavak Pavilion is a fascinating monument of Ottoman architecture dating back to 1613, located on the Golden Horn in Istanbul.
This one-story inland and three-story seaward palace impresses with its richly decorated interiors with high ceilings, silk couches and traditional stoves. A poem by Sultan Selim III is engraved on one of the blue walls.
Today, the palace functions as the Turkish Music Research Center, where historic musical instruments can be admired. The walled garden provides an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
