Description
Galata Tower Museum is a medieval Genoese tower in the heart of Istanbul, combining elements of Romanesque, Gothic and Byzantine architecture.
Built in 1348 as a watchtower, it later served as a lighthouse and prison. Today it houses a museum with interactive exhibits showcasing the tower's history from Byzantine times to modern Turkey.
The stone balconies offer breathtaking panoramic views of Istanbul, making the site a must-see on any tour. The exhibit includes traditional Ottoman calligraphy, dioramas and replicas that tell the fascinating history of the city.
