Description

Fort George is a 19th-century British fortification rising 340 meters above Port of Spain, offering breathtaking views of Paria Bay and Diego Martin.

Built in 1804 as part of a defensive complex, the fort never saw combat, but it has retained its authentic cannons, powder magazine, and barracks remains. Of particular interest is the 1883 signal station, designed by Prince Kofi Nti, which transmitted ship signals to the port.
