Description
Trethevy Quoit is an impressive Neolithic dolmen-type tomb, dating from 3700-3000 BC.
Known locally as the 'House of the Giant' or 'Arthur's Quoit', this unique monument consists of five standing stones topped by a massive boulder inclined at an intriguing angle.
A mysterious hole hollowed into the boulder and five puzzling pits on one of the stones stimulate the imagination and give rise to theories about the possible astronomical significance of the structure.
This is an excellent site for lovers of prehistory and the mysteries of ancient civilizations.
