Hare's Gap

Hare's Gap is one of the most dramatic mountain passes in the Mourne Mountains region of Northern Ireland. This linear trail starts from the Trassey parking lot and passes through Clonachullion Forest, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Spellack and Slieve Bearnagh.

The hike is relatively easy, but can be windy at times, so it's a good idea to bring water, snacks and appropriate clothing. The trail is well marked, making it accessible to beginners, although be prepared for rough terrain.

You can enjoy panoramic views from the pass or explore different routes, including climbing Slieve Bearnagh or along the historic Brandy Pad smugglers' trail.
