Description

Lotharpfad is a unique hiking trail in the Schliffkopf Nature Reserve in the Northern Black Forest.

Named after Hurricane Lothar in 1999, which destroyed huge swaths of the forest, the trail allows observation of the natural regeneration of the ecosystem. The 5.5-kilometer route passes over bridges and footbridges made of dead wood, offering an unforgettable experience of communing with wildlife.

It's a paradise for birders and biodiversity enthusiasts, and the viewing platform offers breathtaking panoramas of the Black Forest and, on sunny days, even the Alps.
