Description
Skjervsfossen Waterfall is a spectacular waterfall located on the Norwegian Hardanger Scenic Road. It falls from a height of about 150 meters in two cascades - an upper 70-meter cascade and a lower 80-meter cascade.
The waterfall was created during the last ice age and has a rich history - it once powered sawmills during spring floods. Remnants of World War II bunkers can be seen in the area.
Specially designed paths, viewing platforms and picnic areas allow you to experience the power of water from different perspectives - from the calm current of the river, to the edge of the waterfall, to the foot of the waterfall, where you can feel the power of the falling water.
