Description

Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves is one of the most important Stone Age caves in Europe. This spectacular rock formation hides traces of human presence from over half a million years ago, including the oldest human fossil in northwestern Europe - a jaw from 41,000 years ago!

During the hour-long guided tour, you will learn the fascinating history of the three species of humans that inhabited the cave: Homo heidelbergensis, Neanderthals and Homo sapiens. You will also see impressive stalagmites and stalactites formed over millions of years.

For the little ones, there is a Stone Age Zone with interactive attractions and a Forest Trail where you can hunt prehistoric beasts.
