Description
Alimini Lakes is a protected natural area in the Salento region of Puglia, consisting of two lakes: the brackish Alimini Grande and the freshwater Alimini Piccolo.
It is a paradise for nature lovers, offering unique ecosystems with rare plant species, including carnivores, and a variety of migratory birds.
Alimini's white sandy beach surrounded by pine forest and Mediterranean vegetation provides the perfect place to relax. The nearby Baia dei Turchi hides the legend of Turkish pirates who landed there before the siege of Otranto in the 15th century.
