The Mermaid Inn

The Mermaid Inn is one of the oldest inns in England, dating back to 1156. Rebuilt in 1420 after being destroyed by French invaders, it boasts authentic Tudor architecture with stone fireplaces and oak paneling.

Each of the 31 rooms bears a name associated with the history of the building and the town of Rye, offering unique features like carved beds and secret passageways. The 2-star AA Rosette restaurant serves British and French specialties.
