Description
The Count House, Botallack Mine is a fascinating historical monument dating back to 1861 and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The building served as the residence and offices for the captain and staff of the Botallack Mine.
The site offers a unique insight into Cornwall's mining history. The mine was famous for mining tin, copper and arsenic, and its underground passages reached half a mile below the seabed.
The distinctive engine houses, particularly The Crowns, are among the most photographed structures in the region. There is an on-site cafe serving hot drinks and snacks.
