Chincoteague Carnival Grounds

Chincoteague Carnival Grounds is a vibrant venue that has hosted an annual carnival organized by the volunteer fire department since 1924. The traditional event was created after a series of tragic fires to raise funds for the local firefighting unit.

The carnival offers a variety of activities, including rides, games, live performances and local delicacies such as clam and oyster cakes, pony fries and funnel cakes. Evening fireworks displays on Independence Day and at the end of the carnival add to the magic of this special event.
