Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse Trail

Makapu'u Point Lighthouse Trail is a scenic 3.2-mile (round-trip) trail offering breathtaking views of Oahu's southeast coast.

The trail is considered moderately difficult, with an elevation gain of about 150 meters, but the paved surface makes it accessible to most hikers. During the hike, visitors can admire the historic red-roofed lighthouse and observe humpback whales (November through May) and a variety of seabirds.

It is advisable to bring a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water, as the trail is usually sunny and hot.
