Description
Foster Botanical Garden is the oldest botanical garden in Hawaii, dating back to 1853, when Queen Kalama leased part of her land to Dr. William Hillebrand, a German physician and botanist.
The 13.5 acres house one of the largest and most diverse collections of tropical plants in the United States, from desert species to rainforest plants.
The garden is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is an oasis of tranquility in the heart of Honolulu, perfect for a relaxing stroll among the exotic flora.
