Description
Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve is a unique wildlife preserve located in Breckenridge, Colorado. Covering 188 acres, including 52 acres of wetlands, a variety of wildlife can be observed, including endangered boreal toads, elk, deer, cougar and more than 47 species of birds.
The reserve offers a network of trails through pine and spruce forests, ideal for hiking in summer or cross-country skiing in winter. The terrain's low elevation makes it a great place for families and novice nature lovers.
The best time to observe wildlife is in the early morning or evening, when the activity of the residents of the preserve is greatest.
