Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge is 35,000 acres of wilderness where nature flourishes in its full glory. This scenic area is famous for protecting the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker and unique pine forest ecosystems.

The space offers about 8 km of easy hiking trails, ideal conditions for bird watching and nature photography. Clear streams, beaver ponds and small lakes create the perfect environment for migrating waterfowl.
