River Park

River Park is a unique natural area located at the junction of the Chicago River and the North Shore Canal. On more than six acres, you'll find a variety of native savanna, prairie and riparian zone habitats that create a rich ecosystem for wildlife.

The park offers scenic trails along the shoreline where you can enjoy scenic views and bird watching. After the concrete dam was removed in 2018, the river was transformed into a vibrant ecosystem with natural vegetation and diverse aquatic fauna.

Take advantage of opportunities to fish, kayak or simply walk among nature. RiverLab at the marina offers hands-on microscope classes and fishing demonstrations.
