Parque Natural Las Ubiñas-La Mesa

Parque Natural Las Ubiñas-La Mesa is a UNESCO biosphere reserve in southern Asturias, where more than 30 peaks exceed 2,000 meters in height. Vast beech forests delight with their red hues in autumn, and dramatic mountain landscapes hide glacial cirques and moraines.

It is a paradise for wildlife lovers, with brown bears, golden eagles, and other Cantabrian species to be found here. Ancient rock paintings, Roman roads, and traditional stone architecture add a cultural dimension to mountain hikes along less-traveled trails.
