Description
Plaza de América is a charming historic square in the heart of Icod de los Vinos, also known as Plaza de la Pila or Plaza de la Constitución.
It features elegant neoclassical architecture, surrounding lush tropical gardens full of palm trees and hibiscus, and an 18th-century fountain that once provided water to residents.
On the square is the yellow Casa de los Cáceres building from the early 19th century, which legend has it has 365 doors and windows - one for each day of the year. It now houses a local music school.
