Description
Sigolsheim national cemetery is a unique memorial located on a hill called 'Blutberg' (Bloody Hill).
Designed in the form of twelve rounded terraces, this national cemetery commemorates the 1,589 French soldiers killed during the Battle of Colmar (December 1944 - February 1945).
The site offers not only a history lesson, but also breathtaking views of the Kaysersberg Valley, Colmar and the surrounding countryside. A walk through the surrounding vineyards adds a special charm to this historic site and an atmosphere conducive to reflecting on history.
