Description

Serre de la Madone is an exceptional historic garden located in the hills near Menton, France. Created by British designer Lawrence Johnston between 1924 and 1939, it impresses with a terraced layout that divides the 15-acre property into 'rooms' using hedges and terraces.

The garden is home to three remarkable plant collections: Proteaceae famous for their beautiful flowers, Araliaceae with their impressive Tetrapanax, and Pittosporaceae characterized by their intoxicating scents. A walk among rare specimens from around the world takes about 1.5 hours and is a true feast for horticulture and nature lovers.
