Description
Kozjansko Park / Kozjansko Regional Park is one of the oldest and largest protected areas in Slovenia, covering more than 20,600 hectares of diverse landscapes.
The park is famous for its rich biodiversity, being home to 12 species of birds and 15 species of animals protected under the NATURA 2000 network.
A remarkable attraction is the Davjek karst spring and the medieval Podsreda Castle, a rare example of Romanesque architecture.
The park is also known for its traditional apple orchards, where healthy fruit is produced without mineral fertilizers and pesticides, which is celebrated during the famous Kozjansko Apple Festival in October.

Tomislav Hren7 years agoBeautiful, quiet, historic place with a beautiful scenery. We spent a few hours exploring the castle. Tickets are around 3,4 euros and it's worth the money. There's even 3 or 4 pianos in the castle with amazing acoustics and you can play it for free.Related categories
