Description
The Bicaz Gorge is one of the most spectacular canyons in Romania, carved by the Bicaz River in the Eastern Carpathians.
Impressive limestone walls, reaching up to 300 meters high, form an amazing corridor through which the winding DN12C road leads. It is a paradise for climbing and photography enthusiasts - the monumental rock formations are breathtaking.
Nearby is the picturesque Red Lake (Lacul Roșu), formed in the 19th century by a landslide. The area is famous for its rich fauna, where golden eagles, lynx or brown bears can be found.
