avatarT N2 weeks agoThis was a beautiful boat ride and then train ride to the mountain. The weather was rainy, windy and hazy but you make the best of the day. We finished with a trip to the spa.
avatarNuwan Wickramasinghea month agoThe Rigi (or Mount Rigi; also known as Queen of the Mountains) is a mountain massif of the Alps, located in Central Switzerland. The whole massif is almost entirely surrounded by the water of three different bodies of water: Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug and Lake Lauerz. The range is in the Schwyzer Alps, and is split between the cantons of Schwyz and Lucerne, although the main summit, named Rigi Kulm, at 1,797 meters above sea level, lies within the canton of Schwyz. The Rigi Kulm Hotel, established in 1816, is located on the summit
avatarprabha shankar nadig5 months agoThanks to a sunny weather, scenery from the mountain top was really spectacular. We chose to get to Rigi kulm from Vitznau instead of from Arth Goldau. The cog wheel train journey talking 30 minutes was spectacular. A lot of skiers on the weekend. A huge microwave tower juts into the sky on the top of Rigi. Snow fall on trees is a treat to watch. Be ready with warm clothing especially thermal wear as it can get very windy and cold in the afternoons. A small restaurant on the top v can give some minimal cuisine and coffee to manage. Better to carry food from home. Takes 3 hours to enjoy the place. Once you are back to Vitznau you can take a boat ride on the Lucerne lake to reach Lucerne which is spectacular.
