Description
St Canice's Cathedral is the second largest medieval cathedral in Ireland, built between 1202 and 1285.
Next to the cathedral rises a 30-meter round tower dating back to the 9th century - one of only two in Ireland that can be climbed for panoramic views of Kilkenny.
The interior is resplendent with magnificent stained glass windows, including a replica of the original 13th century eastern window, and a rich collection of ancient monuments and tombs that tell the story of notable figures from Kilkenny's past.
