Description
The Chapel of St. Agatha in Barcelona is a Gothic architectural gem from the early 14th century, built during the reign of King James II of Aragon.
The interior impresses with its wealth of details - ornamental beams designed by Alfonso de Cordoba and Romanesque arches. The real treasure of the chapel is the Altare del Connestabile - an altarpiece created by Jaume Huguet in 1465, considered one of the greatest works of Catalan art, depicting the Three Kings.
The chapel is part of the complex of the Barcelona History Museum (MUHBA), a testament to the city's rich past and its royal heritage.
