Chiesa di Santa Maddalena

Chiesa di Santa Maddalena is a picturesque church located on a hilltop in the Val di Funes valley of Italy. Surrounded by spectacular views of the Dolomites, especially the Odle peaks, it is a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.

The church was first mentioned in 1394. According to local legend, it was built on the spot where the Fopal River dumped the statue of St. Mary Magdalene after a storm.

The interior is stunning in its Baroque style with richly decorated gold and marble accents and beautiful paintings on the ceiling and walls. The surrounding area also offers numerous hiking trails, including the Panoramic Santa Maddalena Trail.
