Description
Fereej Al Wakrah is a unique stadium in Qatar, also known as Al Janoub Stadium. Its futuristic architecture is inspired by the traditional dhow boats used by local pearl prospectors.
The stadium features an advanced cooling system that maintains a comfortable temperature of 18°C for spectators and 20°C on the pitch, which is essential in Qatar's hot climate.
After the 2022 World Cup, the venue's capacity was reduced from 40,000 to 20,000 seats to better serve the local community and the Al Wakrah Sport Club team. A retractable PTFE woven roof adds a unique touch to the venue.
