PRC 37 SMI Rota da Água - Janela do Inferno

PRC 37 SMI Rota da Água - Janela do Inferno is a scenic hiking trail on the island of São Miguel in the Azores.

This easy to moderate trail of about 7.6 kilometers provides an unforgettable experience on a 2-3 hour walk. The trail takes you through moss-covered tunnels and old aqueducts, culminating in the spectacular Janela do Inferno, a waterfall flowing off a cliff.

Well-marked with yellow and red signposts, the route is ideal even on rainy days, as the tunnels and forest provide natural shelter. Be sure to bring a headlamp for exploring the narrow passages!
