Description
Coin Caves are fascinating caves in Portugal, discovered in 1971 by two hunters pursuing a fox. They were formed about 168 million years ago, during the Jurassic period, when the area was a sea of warm, crystal clear waters.
The interiors are stunning with spectacular limestone formations, including stalactites and stalagmites with intriguing names: Lake of Happiness, Christmas Crib, Water Grotto or Shepherd's Chamber.
For only €6 you will receive a guide and a sample of local moonshine. The perfect place for nature and history lovers!
