Parking Mata do Canario

Parking Mata do Canario is the ideal starting point for hikers in the Azores. It is strategically located from where scenic trails begin leading to spectacular viewpoints, including the famous Sete Cidades with its breathtaking views of lakes and lush greenery.

From the parking lot, there are a variety of trails with varying levels of difficulty, from the short 2-hour Serra Devassa hike to the challenging 20-22 km loop through Vista do Rei. It's worth arriving early, as the place is popular with tourists, and you can meet local souvenir vendors on site.
