Description
Museu de História Natural de Sintra is a fascinating museum housed in a historic 1893 building, a former local marketplace.
It has an impressive collection of more than 10,000 fossils, minerals and meteorites, collected over 50 years by Miguel and Fernanda Barbosa. Among the exhibits are rare dinosaur eggs, a giant shark tooth and the world's only complete specimen of the flying reptile Braseodactylus sp. from Brazil.
Modern technology and interactive exhibits make the tour a fascinating journey through the history of the Earth's formation and its evolutionary changes over millions of years.
