Description
Ponte da Arrábida is an iconic arch bridge over the Douro River, connecting Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia. Designed by engineer Edgar Cardoso, it was completed in 1963 and at the time was the longest concrete arch bridge in the world.
From 65 meters above the river, the bridge offers breathtaking panoramic views of Porto. For the adventurous, a unique attraction is available - climbing the arch of the bridge with safety equipment.
In 2013, the bridge was classified as a Portuguese National Monument, highlighting its cultural and historical significance.
