Stairway of Sameiro Sanctuary

The Sameiro Sanctuary Staircase is an impressive architectural feature of one of Portugal's most important pilgrimage sites. The monumental staircase leads to the top of the hill (566 meters above sea level), offering breathtaking views of the city of Braga.

It's a place full of spirituality and history, where pilgrims from all over the world have come to worship Mary since 1863. Walking up this neoclassical staircase is not only a spiritual experience, but also an aesthetic one - beautiful sculptures and decorative elements surround it, including statues of archangels by Clara Menéres.
