Description
Regional de Colares Winery is the oldest cooperative winery in Portugal, established in 1931. It is located in one of the country's oldest wine regions, established in 1908.
This unique location is famous for its sandy soils free of phylloxera, which allows it to grow the ungrafted Ramisco grape variety. The winery produces distinctive wines using traditional Old World methods.
The impressive interior, dating back to the 19th century, holds more than a million liters of capacity in wooden barrels and vats. Particularly fascinating is the maturation zone with exotic wooden barrels more than 70 years old.
