Description

The "Jagiellonian Embankment " is a fascinating monument of medieval defensive architecture located on a high terrace on the Bug River.

It was here that the Polish-Lithuanian Union was signed in 1413, which makes this place exceptionally important for Polish history.

The preserved fortifications from the 11th century allow you to move back in time and imagine what life was like in the medieval settlement. The steep slope descending towards the river provided a strategic advantage, making the fortified settlement an excellent defensive point.
