Description
The Katipunan Mural is a unique work of art commemorating the heroism of the Katipuners during the Battle of San Juan del Monte in 1896, which launched the Philippine Revolution against the Spanish colonizers.
The mural is part of the Pinaglabanan Shrine complex, which also houses the impressive 'Spirit of Pinaglabanan' monument created by renowned Filipino sculptor Eduardo Castrillo.
It's not only a visual attraction, but also a history lesson on the Filipino people's struggle for independence. The nearby Museo ng Katipunan offers fascinating exhibits, including archival documents, amulets and weapons used by the revolutionaries.
