Description
Aachen Forest (Eifel National Park) is a unique natural area covering 110 square kilometers of diverse landscapes.
It's home to more than 7100 species of plants and animals, including 1,800 that are threatened with extinction. You can encounter lynx, wild cats, beavers and many other species here.
The park offers more than 240 kilometers of hiking trails, including the famous 85-kilometer Wilderness Trail (Wildnis-Trail). History buffs will appreciate the remains of military fortifications and former Nazi estates, such as Ordensburg Vogelsang, now serving as a museum.
