Description
Rondane National Park is Norway's first national park, established in 1962. It encompasses an area of almost 963 km² of wild, mountainous nature with the highest peak, Rondeslottet, reaching 2178 meters above sea level.
It is a paradise for hikers - numerous trails marked with a red 'T' lead through scenic valleys, lakes and waterfalls.
The park is famous for its unique flora and fauna, with wild reindeer at the forefront. You can also spot ermine, foxes and various species of birds. The Rondvassbu Tourist Hostel is an excellent base for exploring this fascinating corner of Norwegian nature.
