Description

The Charlottenhof Palace is a neoclassical gem in Potsdam, designed by Karl Friedrich Schinckel and Ludwig Persius. Modeled after Italian Renaissance villas, it impresses with a simple, bourgeois-classical interior with furniture designed by Schinckel himself.

One of the most distinctive rooms is the Tent Room, styled after the Roman tents of the generals, with blue and white striped wallpaper. Among others, Alexander von Humboldt was a guest in this room during his summer stays.

The gardens surrounding the palace, designed by Peter Joseph Lenné, are part of the Sanssouci Park and have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990.
