Description
The Abandoned Hospital on Traugutta Street is a fascinating complex of historic buildings in Wroclaw, also known as 'Betania'. Founded between 1852 and 1916, it was one of the largest institutions run by women until 1945.
It initially functioned as a hospital for lepers, later expanding to include departments of internal medicine, surgery and gynecology. After a flood in 1997, the facility was abandoned.
Today, the complex of nine preserved buildings attracts lovers of history and architecture, and has become a space for artistic events such as the SURVIVAL Art Review.
