St Marys Orthodox Church, Ghala, Muscat

St Marys Orthodox Church, Ghala, Muscat is a unique place of worship of the Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church, one of the oldest Christian denominations in India. Consecrated in 2018 by His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II.

The church impresses with its traditional Orthodox architecture with a distinctive iconostasis separating the sanctuary from the nave. The altar, which is the heart of the church, is decorated with fabrics and candles.

It is not only a place of prayer, but also a community center, hosting a variety of events and celebrations, including Perunal Day commemorating the church's patron saint, St. Mary.
