AlQala'a Fort

AlQala'a Fort is a fascinating 18th century monument located on a hilltop in Bukha, Oman. It offers breathtaking views of date palm plantations and the Arabian Gulf.

The fort is distinguished by its austere stone construction with narrow windows and blanks on the tower. Its rectangular shape with a distinctive round southeast tower was designed to reduce the impact of cannonballs.

Behind the fort is an unusual mosque, more like a house than a place of worship - without a dome or minaret, which adds to the site's unique charm.
