Koenig Max Weg

Koenig Max Weg is a historic trail named after King Maximilian II of Bavaria, who took a liking to the route during his visits to the region in the 19th century.

The route offers breathtaking views of the Bavarian Alps and Lake Hintersee. A special attraction is the Zauberwald ('Magic Forest') with its moss-covered boulders and old trees.

The trail is surrounded by an avenue of beech trees planted some 150 years ago. The trail is accessible to a wide range of hikers, with no difference in elevation, making it ideal for families and those looking for a peaceful stroll.
