Description
Toppler Castle is one of the oldest surviving weekend homes in Germany, built in 1388 by the legendary mayor of Rothenburg, Heinrich Toppler.
This unique structure resembles a small house set on a medieval tower, painted a bright blue color that symbolized wealth in the Middle Ages.
The interior of the castle has preserved original furniture and furnishings from the 16th-19th centuries, allowing one to be transported back in time. The garden surrounding the castle, which may once have been flooded for defensive purposes, offers picturesque views of the Tauber Valley.
