Römergrab von Nehren

Römergrab von Nehren is a fascinating Roman tomb from the 3rd-4th centuries AD, located near the village of Nehren in Germany.

This unique monument consists of two two-story tomb chambers measuring 3x4 meters, the western one of which has been preserved in its entirety along with original wall paintings.

The tomb probably belonged to a wealthy family of landowners (Villa Rustica) and is located near an ancient Roman road. The unique architecture and colorful paintings made with yellow and red ochre are a fascinating testimony to Roman funerary culture.
