Description
King's Hall is a unique ceremonial hall in Heidelberg Castle, combining Gothic and Renaissance elements. Originally known as the 'First State Hall,' it was renamed after the coronation of Frederick V.
One of the hall's most fascinating features is its wine pumping system, which allowed the liquor to be delivered directly from the Great Heidelberg Barrel, which could hold more than 220,000 liters of wine.
Today, the hall hosts a variety of cultural events, including banquets, balls and theatrical performances. In the summer, during the Castle Festival, the courtyard turns into a stage for musicals, operas and concerts.
